Our Families

Our parents are the heart of the Lifegains program. Qualified couples and single adults are recruited, trained, and licensed to provide care for those individuals in their homes. Great care is taken in matching the strengths of our families with the needs of the clients to ensure successful placements. We provide ongoing training, frequent in-home supervision, and 24-hour-per-day access to consultation services to support our families. The individuals we serve attend public schools or other day activity programs and are offered a full range of recreational and cultural opportunities. Lifegains staff members work as a team with the foster parents, birth families, and human service professionals to formulate individualized case plans, coordinate all necessary services, and support permanency efforts.

Our Staff

Lifegains case managers provide the primary support for the foster parents. Each case manager has the education and experience to meet Division of Mental Health standards as a Qualified Professional. Case managers are assigned caseloads of 10-12 clients and oversee all aspects of the clients' care and treatment. In addition to the training and supervision they provide, case managers are also available 24 hours per day for emergency consultation.

Each of the four offices has a regional program coordinator (RPC) who supervises the case managers and is the primary contact for referrals and prospective families. The executive director, program director, and administrative director work to ensure that the quality of services are outstanding and are documented in compliance with applicable state and federal standards.

The People We Serve

Lifegains provides a wide range of services for both children and adults. Applications are accepted for individuals needing out-of-home placement, including those with developmental disabilities, physical or medical impairments, and psychiatric or behavioral disorders that have prevented them from living with their natural families or in their natural community settings. Clients attend public schools, vocational workshops, or other day activity programs and receive a full range of recreational, cultural, and spiritual opportunities. Individual planning, including education testing, adaptive behavior evaluation, out-patient counseling, tutoring, and physical therapy is available as needed for all clients in the Lifegains program.
