Our Training DepartmentLifegains has a fully staffed training department that provides continuing
education opportunities and support for the agency's parents and staff.
Our training facility, in Morganton, and the services of our training department
are also available to outside agencies through contract arrangements.
Preservice training for foster parent applicants is held on a regular
basis at each of our regional programs. Inservice training opportunities
include monthly Lunch & Learn programs, foster parent meetings, and
access to one-on-one training that is available for our parents as a supplement
to the ongoing support provided by the case managers.
Our training department also maintains a resource library of books, videotapes,
and audiotapes on a wide array of topics that can be checked out by parents
and staff. The services provided by the training department are an important
component of the team approach designed to support our parents as they
strive to provide quality services to those entrusted to their care.
